When a passionate team of Spanish wedding suppliers put their mind to making a couple’s dream fairy tale wedding come true, real magic happens even with the smallest of weddings
Once upon a winter wedding
The location is a pine forest high in the Spanish sierra with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean sparkling in the distance.
The warm sunshine pierces the glade throwing shafts of light over the laden wedding breakfast table.
A hush falls over the clearing as the bride arrives on a beautiful white stallion.
She dismounts, her groom takes her hands in his.
With only eyes for each other the ceremony begins….
Arrival of the bride on horseback
Our bride wanted to arrive at her ceremony on the back of a white horse wearing a red and green collar of winter flowers like a princess bride from the storybooks of her childhood.
To make the bridal fairy tale dream come true, the stallion’s owner led the wedding horse and rider through the wood to the glade where the wedding breakfast and ceremony space were set.
White winter wedding bridal cape
Dressed in a long white gown with a beautiful white wedding cape draped over the back of the stallion, the bride was the epitome of a fairy tale bride. Her scarlet shoes and lipstick brought passionate slashes of colour to compliment the bouquet of Christmas blooms as she made her entrance on horseback.
Warm winter weddings in Spain
Although the fairy tale illusion was of a winter wedding, winters are actually warm in southern Spain! There is an average of 320 days of sunshine and the micro climate means that Christmas flowers like poinsettias grow wild to the size of trees in Andalucia!
This meant red floral decoration was in abundance and made a glorious overhead garland by the wedding breakfast table.
Christmas themed wedding breakfast
Santa gnome figures made out of icing and a Hansel and Gretel iced wedding cake hinted at storybook characters and added just the right note of humour to the fairy tale wedding breakfast.
Handmade wedding crafts continued the Christmas theme and opulent touches of gold and cut glass sparkled in the sun streaming through the fir canopy overhead.
They all lived happily ever after
Through a haze of magical mist, the couple affirmed their vows and the celebrant joined their souls together for all time with a symbolic red thread looped around their little fingers – thus surely to live happily ever after!
